What Happens After I Finish the Course?

After you finish taking our course you will receive a completion certificate that is good for 1 year.  We can meet personally or on Zoom to discuss all steps as outlined below...

You are now ready!

 Prerequisites: 

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Connecticut pre-license 60-hour Real Estate Principles and Practices course completion certificate.
• Broker supervision is not required to take the examination.   

Required Documentation:

• Completed application.
• 60-hour Real Estate Principles and Practices course completion certificate.

Examination Information:

You must be approved by the state of CT before you can register and schedule to take the examination. You will complete your application with the state of CT.  The cost is currently $80.  The link to complete the applicaton is HERE  - COMPLETE APPLICATION.

After the application is reviewed and approved, you will receive instructions on how to register and schedule the examination.  

Please be aware of the following prior to submitting your application:

• You may take the examination on an unlimited basis for up to one year from the date of eligibility.
• You must pass both portions of the examination within one (1) year of eligibility.
• If you do not pass both portions within one year, you must reapply for an additional year of eligibility.
• After you pass both portions of the examination, within the one year of eligibility, you have 2 years from the date of the most recently passed portion to activate your license.
• To activate the license, you must be supervised by a CT licensed broker and pay the $590.00 license fee.
• All real estate salesperson licenses expire on May 31st of every even-numbered year.   

State of CT Application & Examination Fee:

• Application Fee: $80.00
• Examination Fee: $59.00.  The examination fee will be due at the time you schedule the examination with PSI. 
• All fees are non-refundable. 

 SALESPERSON RENEWAL:

Salesperson licenses will expire May 31st of every even-numbered year. 

• Renewal notices will be emailed to all active salespersons approximately 30 - 45 days prior to the expiration date. Please keep your contact information current with this office.  Please click this link for information on how to update your license information. 
• PLEASE NOTE: Salespersons with an "Inactive" license are not eligible to renew. To avoid a delay in the ability to renew your license, please be sure you have a sponsoring broker prior to your renewal cycle. 
• Renewal Fee: $578.00
• Late Fee:  $57.00 if renewal fee is not received by the expiration.
